Saturdays

I love my weekends. They seem to end as soon as they start. But we start off with the good 'ol morning routine. Cereal and cartoons (kids). Which normally results in Madison dumping a bowl of cereal on her head. I don't know any kids who doesn't like cereal and milk. Just recently James is eating like a slob. He gets so involved in the TV that he eats like a pig and makes a big mess, hence the bib.

Madison is a pig no matter what she eats, where she eats, and what she's doing while she eats. I can't say enough how much I love the rubber bibs. They make clean up easy and are reuseable in seconds.

James' loves his tricycle. He rides it up and down the hardscaping. It's so funny to see his knees kick up 100 million times and he's barely going anywhere. We have been transitioning him to his 12" bike with training wheels. It was rough and he got scraped up really good. James was so frustrated he picked up his bike and threw it. He's slowly adjusting. The last time we went out on a ride he did awesome and didn't crash at all! Madison. Oh, Madison. She's my pretty girl. She's rough and tumble but she likes her "pretties" too. Her pretties include jewelry, hair bows, fixing her hair, girly shoes, and anything pretty. I get a laugh out of it. She's still talking up a storm and is kind of learning to be more gentle around babies. Madison will be such a great big sister. Right now she has a thing with shoes. Her hair is getting so long and I have fun playing with it; ponytails, pigtails, etc.

Saturdays are filled with lots of laundry for me - I've tried many times to do it through the week but it always makes a mess. I forget to take it out of the washer or leave it in the dryer for days or leave it on the couch and the kids ransack it and scatter clothes everywhere.... so weekends are chore filled. I figure if I start a few loads late Friday night and save a few for Sunday it makes things a little easier.

The last couple of weeks have been getting warm, and by warm like near 100. So we've had to buy kids new clothes. Lots of shorts, t's, and tanks. I can't wait to take them swimming and to the splash pad. They are both at awesome stages and are so much fun to play with.

I love it when we clean the backyard. It looks so nice and I just want to be outside lounging all day. We were worried that the frost would kill all the plants. They were looking pretty sad. We lost all the hibiscus and the basil but everything else is coming back. Everything is getting green again!

We were afraid our ash tree wouldn't make it - it's been sad looking since it was planted last year. But it has a lot of leaves now! We planted another palm and basil. I'm on the hunt for a citrus coctail tree for the backyard and something to replace the hibiscus. At some point before summer I have a small project to put rock in the sideyard and eventually build a shed to replace the one we tore down.

It's been fun to work on little projects here and there. Mike installed laundry room cabinets for me this week. I love them! I've been asking for a long time. Now I just need to paint them to match the kitchen cabinets. We are going to put in food storage shelves in the laundry room also - yay! I do not have enough pantry space!

The bathroom is done and I'm still trying to pick out pain to finish the room. It's been the worst! UGH! I hate picking paint colors!

We have NOT started on the movie room because Mike is overwhelmed with the amount of "stuff" in there and no where to put it. I think it might be worthwhile to rent a storage space so we just don't have stuff junking up our living space. It makes us both grumpy.

Painting today and hopefully I'll have some pictures to show!!
