... and 30 pounds to lose. Wow. I know it's only been a little over four weeks, but I guess I wasn't really prepared for the postpartum figure. *Blech* I want to take down every mirror in the house that shows anything from the chin down. I'm really struggling not having any clothes to wear. At first I thought, a month or two, then I'll be able to wear my pre-baby clothes again. I know you are all laughing at me.... *ha ha* I know. Time to be realistic.... 3 months if I'm really dedicated.... but maybe 6 months? I'd love to get comments how long it took for you.
Now changing the subject completely.....
James laughed yesterday. Yes, it was definitely a laugh! I doubt it was on purpose, but it was sooo cute. It made my day. He could do no wrong. Then today..... complete 180. He's been difficult. My girlfriend called me today and she said it doesn't get easier..... I'm scared. I said it before and I'll say it again. Being a mom is hard work!

Well I can at least tell you short-term - it DOES get easier. Taya is so much easier now than she was at 4 weeks. I'm sure when she's 2, I won't be saying that, but they just go through various stages don't you think.
Anyhow, I have been finding out that a lot of babies are their fussiest between about 2-3 weeks up to 2-4 months old. You'll make it!
As they get older you have different challenges. So in a couple of weeks or more he may sleep through the night but some other issue may come up. Breanne and I were talking about this the other day. I guess you just have to be flexible and take one day at a time.
It took me 8 months to lose the 45 lbs I gained. Now my pre-pregnancy clothes fit me differently. My shirts hang on me. My body isn't the same --I guess that's what a baby does to you.

LISTEN TO ME. (clenching both of your shoulders tightly to the point of wincing) You can not get crazy and obssesive about losing weight. We all know how you feel. I know your skinny clothes taunt you from the closet. Go to goodwill or Target clearance racks and get some cheap jeans that fit to tide you over for a few months. You don't want to invest in clothes that you don't plan on wearing for long. Then eat and excercise sensibly, all while NOT STRESSING about the weight. Act like you don't even care if you lose it, at the same time picturing yourself thin. Basically act like you're already as thin as you want to be. And it will magically happen. It's a mind game.
