Would You Have Done It?

Let me tell you a little story about the Saturday night fiasco. So it was late. 9:18pm. We had enough of little James screaming in our ear for attention, wanting to be held. So after begging and pleading w/Mike all week to buy a swing, Mike packed up baby and said, "Let's go to Target." Eager and excited, singing to myself, "I get what I want, I get what I want," I threw down the kitchen rag, slid on my uggs, and was out the door. We went straight to the baby isle where all the swings and pack-n-plays are supposed to be displayed.... yes. SUPPOSED to be. We walked up and down amoungst a ramshackeled and desolate display isle. Confused, tired, and annoyed I just picked up a box that looked alright (notice the "I" and not "husband") and tossed it in the cart. At that point something was better than nothing and Mike was growing impatient. Oh yeah, and we needed hand soap. So we went to grab two Dial Vanilla Honey Yogurt handpumps and were ready to go. So half asleep we quickly meadered to the rig and went home. Nevermind the little detour that closed baseline. We had to take the long way home, down price to guadalupe then around to Saratoga. Upon arrival we were taking the goods (target & baby) out when I realized.... "Where's the little bag w/my handsoap? Oh yeah, Mike had taken the cart away before I could get it out and I was so tired I hadn't noticed." So I looked at Mike and said "I left the soap in the cart, huh?" His reply was a quick yes. I thought to myself, "Well if you saw it why did you leave it there. How could you not have seen it?" Well I'm sure a normal person would have said, "Oh, well." But not me. Four bucks is a lot for two bottles of soap. And darnit, I was going to get it. So I hopped back in the rig and was on my way back to Target. 9:58pm. Target closes at 10pm. No carts in the lot. Luckily enough I caught one the managers and he found the Cart Man who had my soap. Back thru the detour and around the longest way possible home. But I had my soap even if I spent four bucks in gas to get it.

Haha, I would've done the same thing. "It's the principle of the things".
