10 months

Yeah, yeah, James was 10 months like 12 days ago but I took pictures and just never got around to editing them. Actually, my time lately has been running or going to the gym to get rid of this:

It's irritating. The more weight I lose, the bigger the belly gets. I call it the old man flap because it flaps over my jeans like an old man's flabby belly.

But you know the WORST? The absolute worst thing? When James slaps his hands and plays with it. So there. I hope you are now happy to know that my skin is retarded and probably will never go back to normal.

But enough about me.

This is about James, who turned 10 months. The little angel. That's a joke. As of late he been a rotten little rat-fink. Yes, rat-fink! Horrible, terrible child. Constantly whining, crying, wiping snots everywhere.

Good news IS:
1. We've been trying to ignore him when he wake up in the middle of the night. It's working. He falls back asleep.
2. He sneaks in steps here and there on his own but either gets too excited about what he's doing he gets all excited and falls down, or gets mad that we're trying to get him to walk and falls over and cries, crawls over to be picked up.

3. Is now able to push his walking/riding toy all by himself without it getting away from him. Granted, we still have weights in it to help with that.

4. Is only nursing 4x a day. Soon to be 3x in just a few weeks.

5. Eats real food! Cheese, crackers, grapes, bananas, raisens, meatballs, pasta, bread, etc. etc. That has been soooo nice. But we're not appreciating the poops. I dry heave every time. I'm gagging right now thinking about it.

6. Finally got a haircut against Mike's wishes.

7. Has mastered the suction valve on the sippy cup. I almost cried. We were driving in the car and I heard. Suck, suck, suck...... choke, gurgle, choke. Suck, suck, suck, choke..... gasping for air. Suck, choke, gurgle, gasp. Suck, gasp, gurgle, suck, choke. Suck, gasp, suck, gasp. Suck, suck, gasp, gasp. My baby! I guess I should mention he's now sucking thru straws too.

Bad news is:
1. He's still not walking.

2. Still picks at every single tiny speck he can find on the ground. Literally, the smallest piece of dirt, he WILL find it and put it in his mouth.

3. He still wakes up between 5am and 6am.
4. He still wakes up in the middle of the night.

5. He is extremely fiesty, unpredictable.

6. I don't know if this one is good or bad, but he is very detail oriented. He does the littlest things that surprise me.

A refreshingly, honest post...and I think the real good news is having a day where we can manage to think of more good things than bad things, so hats off to you.

Kind of random, but I just have to say that I have a lot of friends that nursed up to a year and even beyond - I honestly don't know how you do it. I was so ready to be done at 3 months.

And finally...We also have a detail-oriented boy over here. I claim he doesn't make messes - he's just constantly re-organizing my entire house.

Oh, and I will probably be at your party - Mutual was canceled :)

love the belly pic (I thought it had to Mike at first glance - more the clothes though, really) Thanks for keeping it real. Everyone would have hated you anyway if you'd posted a pic of you with a perfect flat belly. So the good news is - you still have friends!

Adriana - both! When he does something because he is mad, he is just so cute doing it.

Sara - well, I too was ready to be done at 3 months. Actually more than ready. But there was just something in the back of my head that kept telling me to keep going... and I'm really glad I did.
(Yay! You're coming to my party!!!)

Jana - so you're saying I dress like a man? And I bet my belly is bigger than yours *melodically*

ha ha that was funny. I too also have what I like to call a "joey sack" I don't think with any amount of exercise it will ever completely go away, but there are other fixes that can take care of that.

You sure that was your belly or Michaels!!!??? James is an angel and so smart~! Papa was impressed with his small motor movements and his power of observation. Apparently he played with James when he was up at the crack of dawn!!
