I want to blog but I'm in a rut. Nothing to blog about I guess. I've been spending most of my time decorating the kids' room. Lots of cleaning too. Digging junk out of the closet and trying to get rid of it. Thankfully Jana willfully and gratefully accepted my heaping bag of scraps. I'm working on the piping (or cording if you will) for Madison's baby bumper. I keep telling myself I won't sew anymore bedding items. But for the lack of finding anything cute, here I am once again. Sewing. But I like it. This time I'm taking it bit by bit and it seems to progress slowly but steadily. Progress is key. I have this amazingly soft fabric that I was going to make a fitted mattress sheet for BUT I am 1/2 yd short. IDIOT! So now I'm thinking it would be cool to make a little quilt with it and use it as the backside. I think it will actually be cute! So I can't wait to do that... after I finish the bumper to see what scraps I'm left with.
I painted a sample on the wall today. Will probably prime it sometime this week. After the painting is done, then the wall decorating. The closet is pretty much all cleaned out and organized the way I want it.
I really do want to make one of those huge floor cushions for reading that we saw at the library. I'd buy one but they are $150 a pop. Check out this pattern I found. I'm thinking the dragon... click here.
Lots of projects. Probably too many. I should have lots to keep me busy when I'm on maternity leave. Funny how much you forget what the beginning is like. I'm sure I'll be exhausted. But it's not like with James. Once the baby is asleep I still have James to tend to. Wow. I'll probably be really busy. Yikes. We will see.
I guess I could ramble how I'm a magnet for weirdos. Like how at Costco I broke from the pack because they were messing around in electronics and I got tired of waiting so headed off to the bread isle only to get stopped by this guy who tried talking to me and getting all up in my personal space. He was really tall and fit and probably would be a normal nice looking guy if he wasn't wasted and saying off the wall things to me. But that would probably bore you to tears. Thankfully I was rescued by Bj and James. THANK YOU!
Or I could tell you my scheme to get my hands on the man room and "re-do" it so that it can better accomodate our guests. I'm breaking Michael down one pinky toe/finger at a time. He's so resistant to change. You should have seen the look on his face when I started throwing his raggy clothes away. Or when I heaped the big black bags of scraps by the door. He got all excited and was like, "woah, woah, what's this?!?" and started digging through it. My husband really cracks me up. Such a pack rat for junk.
So now I've put you all to sleep, I'm going to finish the laundry.
