Like Jana put it, there's always a story behind Easter, whether it be the clothes, the food, the decor, etc. Easter pictures were inspired by the cutest, most expensive outfit I ever did find for Madison weeks and weeks before. And I splurged and bought it. But because the capri's are white I've been limiting her use of it. But what better excuse to make the outfit work for Easter? It's spring, it fun, it's GREEN. I looooove green!
I won't say how much Madison's and James' outfits cost - because it definitely exceeded anything I was initially willing to spend. But you know how it goes, you give in to one outfit and then you try to match everything else up. Then as the time draws nearer, you become more and more desparate because you can't find anything, and eventually money doesn't even matter anymore... you just want it to MATCH!
So I spent weeks dreaming up how I was going to make it all work. For me; I already had white maternity capris, check. Black shirt, green shirt? I had to find something. Uncheck. And I almost forgot I had these awesome green flats! CHECK.
James had nothing but black slacks. White short-sleeve button up was definitely a score at Old Navy for price and actually finding one. I found some black fabric earrings there too that I just HAD to have! Score for me. Last chance to find anything else was at Nordstrom where I hit the jackpot with both a green boys tie (with a zipper, the most excellent design for a boys tie I have ever seen!) and black church shoes.
I didn't have time and also forgot all about finding Michael a green tie and crossed my fingers and hoped he had something. To which he replied as we were getting ready for pictures, "where's my green tie?" But he dug hard enough and found something.
Then as I was getting ready I noticed how ill-looking my hairstyle was. All growing out; bangs and all looking quite scrappy. So I ripped off a green sash from an old pair of trousers I've been tossing around in the closet for months --- it falls of the hanger all the time, grrr!!
And tada! We looked semi-coordinated except for the different shades of green. I wanted to kick myself for not getting ribbons or bows made for Madison's hair because I really did want to put it up in ponytails. I only had one little green bow and decided to comb it over. Eh, you do what you can. Maybe you didn't notice I forgot that I left my ring in the cleaner as well and wasn't even wearing my wedding ring! Argh.... oh well, maybe you didn't notice.
So that's our nice family Easter picture, taken and edited by Mike's sister. It was so awesome of her to do that for us!

as well as the back story. didn't even see you guys that day. we left early though.
zipper ties are great at first. ours always end up breaking. could be because the boys fiddle with them too roughly.
