For some reason we always let James' hair get too long; to the point that he actually has side burns... and bangs. Poor little guy, I bet it makes him so hot. And he HATES washing his hair. These pictures were taken almost 3 weeks ago.
Last weekend we went swimming at 9 o'clock in the morning. It was perfect! The sun was out, it was nice and warm... maybe 90 ish? I was ready to get in! So far this summer, we've gone to the swimming pool at least 2x a week. It cools me down, the kids have fun, and we get out of this hot, messy house.
Madison got a tan in about 20 minutes. I was like, whaaaaaa??? And put more sunblock on her. She looked like rotisserie chicken skin.
See how long James' hair is?
Last night I just couldn't take it anymore. We bought one of those little swimming pools - no replacement for the real thing - then kids were playing, so I hearded James on the chair to get a buzz cut. The clippers were sitting outside anyway, and Mike was still working so might as well (The kids are so loud when Mike is on the phone. It's easier to contain them outside.)
I think we could have made a wig:
James was so good to sit in the chair and let the hair fall on his legs. He was getting itchy but let me finish. He looks like a new little boy!
Two minutes after his buzz, he rubbed his hand over his head and said, "Oh no, where did hair go?" He kept saying that all night.
Now washing his hair isn't so bad. He is the cutest little boy. I forget how funny his ears are :) They remind me of bat ears.
After James got a cut Mike hopped in the chair and begged me to cut his hair..... I HATE cutting hair. It is my least favorite thing to do. If he paid me $50 it still wouldn't motive me to do it. I get hair all over myself, it gets on the ground, I get hair all over him. It's the worst thing in the world. But since I was already a mess from doing James' I gave him a trim and tried to do some shading. It's O.K. Like I said, maybe if I tried I could do a better job.
Then Madison got in the car and wanted her hair cut. Awe. It was the saddest, cutest, funniest thing. She made a pouty face because I wouldn't. I just combed her hair instead. Of course she broke the #2 attachment - the one we use the most. Grrr, that girl! But that little face can be so cute. It's not fair. I just want to spank her sometimes and tell her that's for being cute!

I love James' buzz cut! He looks so different but still so cute. Also, I cannot get over Madison's killer tan. She was meant to live in AZ.
You are a wonderful writer! I just love reading your blog posts!
