It's my BiRf-DaY

I'm 28. Woo. Birthday's just really aren't that exciting for me. I just like my ice cream cake and my presents and that's all. Very low key, very simple, very easy. Today was pretty unique. We had a baby shower and a friend's birthday to go to. I was actually really happy about it. I got to eat great food and didn't have to clean up after anyone :)

So I bet you're all just DYING to know how it was. I woke up this morning and Michael sang happy birthday to me, as I chimed in too. Then I meandered out to the kitchen where I found my favorite flowers (lily's) on the counter and a little party bag. In it was a children's usa t-shirt and childrens usa socks. Confused I just moved on to open the two cards that were also in the basket. Which were from Michael and my brother Matt, who is staying with us this week (he's 14). I got two 1 lb. gift cards to See's. That's A LOT of chocolate. But I was pretty content at that point. Then Michael asked if I wanted my real gift and was presented with a little black jewelry box. I kind of chuckled, expecting to find a candy ring or some other "gag" gift inside. But I opened the box and there was a beautiful ring inside.

I'm so lucky - I had the best birthday gift ever!

Then I scrubbed down both bathrooms - I think I should mop the floor in there more than once a year - and Mike took the kids to run an errand, so I got to clean in peace. It's peaceful when I clean when the house is empty. I actually enjoy it.
