This phrase or name or whatever you want to call it always cracks me up. My boss is Joe. Joe Shmoe. But I would never have the danglies to say that. First of all b/c I would crack up and be on the floor I think it's so funny. I'm sure he would NOT think it is funny.
So where was I going with this? Oh yeah. For lack of any material. This is what a normal day at the office would be like.
1. Arrive at least 1/2 hour to 1 hour late
2. Be greeted by my fellow cube-mate-across-the-way by "Glad enough for you to make it in time for lunch", "Nice of you to stop in today", "WELCOME", "It's not noon yet", "Oh you are here today", ....
3. Spend 1 hour to go through 40-50 emails that have been sent that morning (I get in usually at 7:30am -8am)
4. Spend another hour trying to decide which ones I can delete to free up memory in my inbox (not easy)
5. Usually have people on my tail all morning about not getting things done fast enough because they've been waiting for hours. Hey it's not my problem they get to work at the crack of dawn. Their bad. I make them wait. Most times just in spite of their prodding.
6. Eat breakfast
7. Pump
8. Stare at drawing. Read boring documents. Pretend I know what I'm doing. Go to meetings.
9. Lunch
10. Send emails, talk to people and pretend I know what I'm doing, stare at more drawings, read more boring documents.
11. Pump
12. Check the news, read more emails, surf the web, back to #10
13. Pump
14. Everyone goes home
15. I actually get work done. No one is harrassing me.
16. Pick up James
It's actually not bad. Well, the work part. But throw in a little family, a lot of house chores, tons of cleaning, organizing, etc, etc. It's very stressfull. I've just come to accept the fact that I'm a bad housewife, a bad mom, and a bad employee. One child down, three to go.
(big sigh)

You are not a bad housewife, mom & employee - I know what you mean - when you take on multiple roles and are spread thin, it's hard not to feel like you're doing a bad job, even if you're giving it your all.
I've always thought I was confident enough and had healthy self-esteem, not cocky, just self-esteem and then was chatting with someone recently who was saying she realized she felt short in many areas and defined herself according how she was doing in all of those areas - I realized when it comes to that - maybe my confidence is not so high, and I think a lot of us are that way. So I feel more determined to just know of my divine nature and not base things too much around what I'm getting done or not getting done (not saying they aren't important and virtuous things, just that if I get discouraged about my performance on those things, then that's probably not coming from Heavenly Father - I should feel encouraged, not discouraged)
Okay, so not that I've gotten all serious on your fun blog, I'll go! :)
...And by the way, 40-50 emails! You sound SOOO IMPORTANT! I don't get 40-50 important emails in a month!
..so you had a bad day.. (that's the song that comes to mind)
now I feel guilty for emailing you at work. I'm just helping clog up your computer!

So I went to Jana's post and I loved it. I read her version of the Make over and then yours. Hilarious!!! I think I am somewhere in the middle. I might possibly need your help :)
Holy cow Bianca, you are still pumping at work and James is 6 1/2 months old? That's AWESOME!! You are a great mom just for that!
