Headlining News

I officially have a job as of last week.

Feds ink $400 million settlement with SRP over coal-fired plant pollution

I was out there at the plant in St Johns on Thursday. It's starting to grow on me. Super small town - no fast food, no chain grocery stores, no mall. Is it a disease? I think I'm getting sick.

I get ahead of myself a lot of times. I work in Major Projects - Coronado Emissions Control Project (CECP) that is based out of Gilbert -- next to Santan Generating Station. All major projects start at that location then move out to the actual site once construction begins. My project just started up last year and major construction begins this December. I'm on a rotating engineering program so typically every six months I rotate into a new group. Some areas will allow you to stay for two rotations, so this group I will be staying until December.

Although engineering had started last year, it wasn't until recently that the legal issues were final and that is what the link was about. So, it's official now that the legal part is done and our jobs/the work we have done is now confirmed.

Since I started w/the project in its infancy, as time progresses, so does the work. Now I am beginning to travel to the plant site (St Johns) more and more. At first I hated it, but the more I go, the more I appreciate the lifestyle, the people, the scenery.

That's what the whole thing was about.

So you're going to start working in St. Johns full time? I'm confused.

No, we are still at the Gilbert office until December. Since I'm on a one year rotation, I'll be there until the end of the year. Then the project moves to St Johns full time and I'll be doing some other rotation elsewhere.
