Today, 4 years ago I met Michael, officially. We were at Saguaro Lake on a Saturday joint activity between University 5th ward and University 3rd ward. I decided to move in with my girlfriend and her roommates who were renting a house near ASU in June. So that made me new to U3 ward. I was excited to have new roommates and finally be in a "younger" and more "hip" ward.
So anyway, it was a fun day at the lake and the afternoon was winding down. We were hanging out on a tube in the middle of the lake, just me and my two girlfriends. The grub was ready so we decided to head back to shore.
Kaliska had layed out some towels to sit on as we ate and this guy, Michael, was sharing her towel. She kept poking him making fun of his "fake-n-bake". I have to admit I was a little jealous. Somehow he lost his place on her towl (I think he went to get some food and another guy took his place), and he came back and made some comment like, "now where am I gonna sit?" Well me, trying to be nice said, "there's room on my towel if you want to sit here". Then he said something like no thanks and made a comment like he wasn't interested in me or something. So I was like, "whatever meat head (he was quite muscular then)", and took off. When I left he made some dumb comment and took my towel. So I just grabbed some food and started talking with some other boys and we ended up on Kaliska's towel while Mike was "baking" on my towel.
I was so annoyed.
When it was time to go home, Mike asked us for a ride. Somehow he ended up being sandwiched between me and Josie. The whole way home he was all up in Josie's grill. He was asking her, "do you run? you look like a runner." I thought he was a creep. The whole time he was going on and on about this girl he went on a date with. Apparently she kissed him and he didn't like it and she wanted to date him but he wasn't interested.
I remember being even more annoyed and just wanted to throw him out of the car.
I think he hung out a little longer at our house. Maybe we dropped him off, I can't remember. But after that he started coming to our house quite often. I had just assumed that he was good friends with my roommates. But later found out that he had his "eye" out on me for awhile.
It wasn't until later that I put two and two together. This guy was the same guy that had:
a) been to our house several weeks earlier. We had a birthday party at our house. I left after we had cake to hang out with my sister and came back just in time for me to clean up after everyone. He was hanging out against the wall watching me try to take out the overflowing trash can. Trash was falling all over the floor and he made some dumb comment. I vividly remember thinking, "Who is this guy, he is a tool. He's just standing there watching me try and clean up and making fun of me."
b) was the same guy at Josie's sister's birthday party who walked past me and said something about my outfit. Our friend had a band and they called themselves knotty pine, so we made shirts like I *heart* NY but it was KP instead. He said, "what are you trying to do, be different?" because I had ripped my sleeves off to make it a tank top and cut a slit down the middle of the neckline (you remember when that was the cool look). And yes, the goal was to be different. Again I thought *$%#).
Well this post is long enough, so I guess you have to wait for part two...

You better hurry with part two, because you are doing a good job of making him sound like a tool :)
Whatever Bianca, I'm offended... 8th ward was COOL, whatever you say. And the Oaks roommates were AWESOME, hello!!
Funny story though, I'll stay tuned for the sequel.
Well, at least you had Aaron! I had no one. All the guys were old and nerdy... you remember! They were so lame. You weren't tho, you were cool.
Do you remember when FHE right after conference was "General Conference Jeopardy"? All the "older" guys were sitting there with their scriptures and really getting into it? They were taking it so seriously too!
That's when I deemed them officially "lame" and you totally "cool" for wanting to get out of there as fast as we could!
Man, those memories are funny now!!
I agree with Adriana - for Mike's sake, tell us Part 2!
